The present TISSNET will not be conducted any more as per the notification released by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) for admission 2024 onwards. After Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has cancelled its own PG entrance exam TISSNET 2024 for admission 2024 and has made CAT 2023 and CUET PG 2024 exams mandatory for Admission 2024 to various PG programmes, TISS aspirants are worried about other options as the CAT registration is already closed. TISS Admission 2024: No TISSNET

  • TISSNET 2024 has been cancelled by Tata Institute of Social Sciences
  • Now CAT 2023 is Mandatory Exam for M.A. (HRM & LR), M.A. (ODCL) Admission 2024
  • CUET (PG) 2024 is the Mandatory Exam for Admission 2024 in other PG programs
  • TISS Aspirants to appear in CAT 2023 or CUET PG and apply separately for TISS Admission
  • TISS Applications for Admission 2024 likely to Open in December 2023

In its notification dated November 14, 2023, Tata Institute of Social Sciences has clarified, “The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), has decided that admission for the forthcoming Academic Session 2024-25 for all its Postgraduate Programmes will be based on the CUET (PG)-2024 scores, except for the following programmes, which will consider CAT scores.

  • Master of Arts in Human Resource Management & Labour Relations
  • Master of Arts in Organisation Development, Change and Leadership

All additional details, updates, and notifications, as applicable, will soon be accessible on the Institute's admissions website.”

TISS has released the official TISSNET 2023 Mock Test with 25 questions divided in three sections three months before the exam.  Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) will conduct TISSNET 2023 exam on February 25, 2023 as a computer based test. TISSNET 2023 offers admission opportunity in M.A. Programme offered by TISS at its various campuses. The exam will be held in 40 test cities. TISSNET is an online computer based objective test.

 

The authenticated Mock Test for TISSNET 2023 as released on official TISS website offers good opportunity to have a feel of actual TISSNET exam pattern although there are fewer questions in the officially released TISSNET demo question paper. 

 

The official TISSNET 2023 Mock Test: Consists of 25 MCQs divided in 3 sections:

  • Section-1: General Awareness – 10 MCQs
  • Section-2: Quantitative Reasoning –5 MCQs
  • Section-3: Verbal Ability – 5 MCQs

General Instructions:

  1. Total duration of TISSNET Mock is 10 minutes.
  2. Actual TISSNET 2023 is of 100 minute duration
  3. The clock will be set at the server. The countdown timer in the top right corner of screen will display the remaining time available for you to complete the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself. You will not be required to end or submit your examination.
  4. The Question Palette displayed on the right side of screen will show the status of each question using one of the following symbols:
  • You have not visited the question yet.
  • You have not answered the question.
  • You have answered the question.
  • You have NOT answered the question, but have marked the question for review.
  • The question(s) "Answered and Marked for Review" will be considered for evaluation.
  1. The Marked for Review status for a question simply indicates that you would like to look at that question again.
  2. You can click on the ">" arrow which appears to the left of question palette to collapse the question palette thereby maximizing the question window. To view the question palette again, you can click on "< " which appears on the right side of question window.
  3. You can click on your "Profile" image on top right corner of your screen to change the language during the exam for entire question paper. On clicking of Profile image you will get a drop-down to change the question content to the desired language.

8. To answer a question, do the following:

  1. Click on the question number in the Question Palette at the right of your screen to go to that numbered question directly. Note that using this option does NOT save your answer to the current question.
  2. Click on Save & Next to save your answer for the current question and then go to the next question.
  3. Click on Mark for Review & Next to save your answer for the current question, mark it for review, and then go to the next question.​

Answering a Question:

9. Procedure for answering a multiple choice type question:

  1. To select your answer, click on the button of one of the options
  2. To deselect your chosen answer, click on the button of the chosen option again or click on the Clear Response button
  3. To change your chosen answer, click on the button of another option
  4. To save your answer, you MUST click on the Save & Next button
  5. To mark the question for review, click on the Mark for Review & Next button.
  6. To change your answer to a question that has already been answered, first select that question for answering and then follow the procedure for answering that type of question.

Navigating through sections:

  1. Sections in this question paper are displayed on the top bar of the screen. Questions in a section can be viewed by clicking on the section name. The section you are currently viewing is highlighted.
  2. After clicking the Save & Next button on the last question for a section, you will automatically be taken to the first question of the next section.
  3. You can shuffle between sections and questions anytime during the examination as per your convenience only during the time stipulated.
  4. Candidate can view the corresponding section summary as part of the legend that appears in every section above the question palette.

TISSNET Exam Day: Instructions Summary

1) Read the questions carefully.
2) Each question carries 01 mark each.
3) The Mock Test paper is divided into 03 sections –

  1. General Awareness – 10 Questions
  2. Quantitative Reasoning – 5 Questions
  3. Verbal Ability – 5 Questions

4) The given sample paper is a representation of the question types that will be given. The Mock Test with given number of questions per section is for demo purpose only.
