Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) offers 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) leading to award of BBA+MBA at its Kakinada campus in Andhra Pradesh. For admission to IPM programme, IIFT accepts score of IPMAT exam which is conducted by IIM Indore. Following the success of IPM programs at IIMs, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT)  also joined the IIMs and had launched the 5 year IPM program from the academic session 2022-23. This makes IIFT another top management institute to enter the undergraduate management education segment.

2. What is IIFT IPM 2024? IIFT IPM Programme Details
IIFT IPM is 5 year integrated program in management, leading to BBA+MBA degree on successful completion of the IPM course. IIFT IPM programme is offered to the young students who have passed class 12 or are appearing in it. IIFT IPM course is designed to impart managerial and decision making capabilities to young professionals along with integrating management education with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). In line with the New Education Policy 2020, with an early induction into the programme and a rigorous and holistic curriculum, the students will be able to demonstrate problem solving skills supported by appropriate analytical techniques and will use ethical and socially conscious judgement while analyzing business situations.

 

2.1 IIFT IPM Awards Dual Degree BBA+MBA
The Candidates successfully completing the course requirement of IIFT Integrated Programme in Management would be awarded Bachelor of Business Administration (Business Analytics) and Master of Business Administration (International Business) by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. The first three years of the IPM programme would be based on semester system and the last two years would be based on the trimester system (as per the prevailing 2 years Full Time MBA course structure offered by IIFT).

 

IIFT 5 Year IPM Programme: Key Highlights 

  • The Integrated Programme in Management (BBA- Business Analytics and MBA-International Business) at Kakinada campus is a fully residential programme. 
  • Candidates successfully completing the course requirement of integrated programme in management would be awarded Bachelor of Business Administration (Business Analytics) at the end of 3 years and Master of Business Administration (International Business) at the end of 5 years by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
  • Candidates opting for exit after completing the requirement of first three years, would be awarded Bachelor of Business Administration (Business Analytics).
  • The first three years of the IPM program would be based on semester system and the last two years would be based on the trimester system (as per the prevailing MBA course structure).
  • Promotion from BBA (Business Analytics) to MBA (International Business) will be based on fulfilment of all academic requirements as per rules.

3. IIFT IPM Eligibility Criteria

 

IIFT IPM Eligibility for Admission 2024 is as below

  • Candidates should have passed 10+2/XII/HSC examination in arts/commerce/science stream or equivalent with 60% (55% for candidates from SC/ST/PwD/Transgender) or more in the year 2022, 2023 or appearing in 2024. 
  • The candidate must have passed class 10th examination with 60% (55% for candidates from SC/ST/PwD/Transgender) or more in the year not before 2020.
  • A key component of IIFT IPM eligibility is that the candidates must have studied Mathematics/ Business Mathematics as a subject in class 12 (+2 level). This is a mandatory part of IIFT IPM Eligibility criterion
  • A candidate should have been born on or after August 01, 2004 (5 years of relaxation to the candidates from SC/ST/PwD category will be given i.e. born on or after August 01, 1999). 
  • As IIFT accepts IPMAT exam conducted by IIM Indore for IPM admission the candidate should apply and appear in IPMAT 2024 conducted by IIM Indore.

5. IIFT IPM Course Fees

  • IIFT IPM Fees for first 3 Years: IIFT IPM course fees for the first three years of the programme is Rs.4 lakh per annum excluding hostel and mess fees. The total IPM Fees for 3 years is Rs.12 lakhs
  • IIFT IPM Fees for last 2 Years: IIFT IPM Course fees for the fourth and fifth year would be as per MBA(IB) programme fees set for that year. Presently the IIFT 2 years MBA fees is Rs. 21.77 lakhs.

IIFT Integrated Programme in Management 2024-29 is a fully residential programme. Details about hostel (i.e single/double occupancy, hostel & mess fees etc.) will be informed to the candidates in offer letter for admission.

 

6. IIFT IPM Admission Criteria
IIFT IPM Admissions 2024 is a two step process. The applicants should apply for IPMAT 2024, conducted by IIM Indore and also apply separately for IIFT IPM Admission 2024. IIFT will use score of IPMAT 2024 cut off for short-listing/selecting the candidates for its IPM 2024-29 batch

 

6.1 IPMAT Cut offs for IIFT IPM Admission 2024
Based on last year IPM cut off trends, it is expected that IIFT will have following IPMAT cut offs to shortlist students for IPM 2024-29 batch. IIFT will also release the category wise cut off marks scored in IPMAT 2024 exam. The candidates, who clear cut offs as given below, will be considered for final selection based on other parameters also.

7.1 IIFT IPM Application 2024? Step by Step Process
Those candidates who wish to apply for IIFT’s Integrated Programme in Management (BBA-Business Analytics and MBA-International Business) 2024-29 have to mandatorily apply for IIM- Indore entrance exam (IPMAT 2024). Step by Step process is given below:

  • After submitting the application successfully, note the registration number of your application as it is mandatory to fill the same in IIFT online application form.

8. IIFT IPM Placements: Plans and Prospects
IIFT placements are conducted jointly for both its Delhi and Kolkata campuses. As IIFT has launched 5 year integrated programme in Management at its Kakinada campus which is the third campus of IIFT, the IIFT IPM Placements for the first batch will also be conducted in 2028 along with the placement process with Delhi and Kolkata campuses and are to remain at par for all the campuses. Accordingly, the students studying in IIFT IPM programme are expected to receive same placement offers as the students at other campuses are getting from top recruiters, given the reputation of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.

IIFT IPM curriculum for the first three years is based on the combination of courses on Business Analytics, Foundation (Management), Humanities and Professional Enrichment. Last 2 Years of Curriculum

  • The course structure after the sixth semester will be merged with the MBA programme of IIFT.
  • The course curriculum is subject to revisions based on industry inputs and to keep in line with the dynamic business environment.

IIFT IPM Programme Pedagogy

  • Combination of Methodologies: The pedagogy varies for each course depending upon the focus on theory or practical as well as needs of the students. The course curriculum will be imparted through a combination of methodologies like case studies, projects, presentations, simulation and games, role play, field visits and industry sessions.
  • International Exchange: The students will be provided with an opportunity for International exchange programme.

10. IIFT IPM Kakinada Campus
IIFT already has campuses at Delhi and Kolkata but the IPM course is not launched at either of these two campuses. From the year 2022 IIFT has launched its Kakinada campus which is exclusively devoted to undergraduate education and the IPM program is offered at IIFT Kakinada. IIFT IPM Kakinada campus is functioning from the Jawahar Lal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada campus in Andhra Pradesh. Later on, IIFT will come up with its own Kakinada campus in large area after the same is constructed like that of IIFT Delhi and Kolkata campuses.  

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was established in 1963 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to contribute in the skill building for the external trade sector of India. It has come a long way to successfully develop into a unique institution involved in imparting knowledge through research and training in international business and trade. The Institute was granted “Deemed to be University” status in 2002. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has recognized IIFT as Grade ‘A’ Institution. Over the years, IIFT has emerged as a national university with focus on International Business Management and Strategy, and such focus is reflected in all three major activities of the Institute: Research, Training and Education.
